It sucks to be outdone

So last week I created a post that contained what I thought were a few humorous jabs at the passing of Gary Gygax. Over the weekend I found a list of 25 Gaming Euphemisms for the Death of Gary Gygax. Unfortunately, not only were the handful of comments I made included in this list, but there were a lot more, much funnier comments, including:

• Is sleeping with the sahuagin
• Drew the Void
• Ended the campaign
• Kicked the dice bag
• Retired Mordenkainen
• Got screwed by the DM
• Joined the gaming table invisible

At first blush, I felt bad that all I could create were three or four snarky comments, but upon further reflection, I think I am proud that these four comments tapped-out all of my D&D knowledge. Maybe I had more going on as a kid than I thought I did? Maybe all that time I spent outside playing ball and fishing wasn't goofing-off, but rather something constructive? I'm not quite certain, but I do know that I am no longer going to take hit points for bowling with Dean Caprini (OK, that may not have been the best example).
