But Darth, I thought you hated Texas. This is true, but that is before I learned of "The Sexy Chicken," otherwise known as the Cock Tease.
FORT WORTH — The FWST wins the prize for Best Story on a Friday with its expose of the Sexy-Chicken-mascot brouhaha going down over on Rufe Snow Drive.
The owners of the Sexy Chicken restaurant launched a marketing campaign in which a mascot in a chicken costume stands by the side of the road and waves. But the story doesn't end there: The mascot in the chicken costume is also wearing a neon green bra and tap pants.
That is undoubtedly what pushed it right over the edge for Fort Worth code officers, who've warned the owners that to continue this blight on the eyesight of passing drivers violates the city’s hawking ordinance and could cost them a $500 fine. (Code ordinance 106-5(8) prohibits anyone from promotional campaigns that create distractions on a busy street.)
The owners just want to attract customers. What's so wrong about a little ol' chicken mascot wearing a green bikini?
"But I think a lot of people think we’re a strip club or something," co-owner Scott Grey said.
Oh yeah. That's it for sure.
The mascot's purported name is Marilyn, and the FWST offers video footage, if you're into that kind of thing.
Say what you want about Texas, but Texans know how to market.
