The Bearcats Can Bite Me

It's only been about 16 hours since the NCAA selection committee announced the teams in the NCAA Basketball Tournament and already I am sick of hearing the Cincinnati Bearcats whine that they were left out of the tournament. Sure their team may have been a bit better than Air Force (only the ultimate sports geek or someone that has "bracketologist" on their Kinko's produced business card even knows that Air Force has a basketball team) but is that what this is all about? Winning? Don't you think this sends the wrong message to kids...that winning is everything?

Let's focus on my Eastern Illinois Panthers. Look at their amazing 5 - 15 in conference record. Look at that .250 winning percentage. More importantly, look at an RPI that is solidly in the top 300 (309) teams in the NCAA. Now tell me who should be crying. Yet you don't hear a peep out of the people in Charleston, IL. They know tough love when they see it. Panthers, the next time I am in Chucktown I will pour my Bud long neck out into the curb in front of Marty's in your honor.
