Sweet New Abacus Hacks!

DarrylCo President Darryl Streeter showed off new hacks designed to make the use of an abacus more efficient. "Let's face it, using an abacus isn't as easy at it used to be. Especially when we get older," said Streeter. "There is all this sliding and moving of parts. It is incredibly inefficient. Plus there is wear and tear on the abacus itself as well as your body."

Streeter came up with the idea for abacus hacks after a long night out with friends. "My wife Abbie and I like role playing games. We hosted a Dungeons and Dragons game at our town home a while back that seemed to go on forever. After about 9 hours of rolling hematite 14mm Dwarven Stones, my arm was tired. The next morning I had to go to work and could barely use the abacus. That's when I had my epiphany."

Streeter will unveil his suite of abacus hacks in June at the C3 conference in New York. C3 brings corporate and channel technology buyers and IT professionals together with the industry’s premier technology manufacturers, solutions providers and consulting services. More than 10,000 enterprise professionals from corporate business, finance, government, retail and education are expected at this year’s C3 event in New York City. New in 2006 is Compliance World Expo – NYC’s first compliance-centric expo and conference.
