Let me tell you what your dog is trying to tell you. All it takes is a picture of your dog and a brief description of your family. I will then use the experience I have amassed as one of the nation's leaders in canine social behavioral studies to provide you with the keys to improve your relationship with your dog.

The Elfin Cove, AK Land Rush
(I would supply a more detailed map of Elfin Cove, but this is the most detailed map on Google at least I want it to be.)
So late yesterday I learned that my best friend's wife wants them to relocate from the center of our democracy to Elfin Cove, AK. That's right, she wants to move from Washington DC to a place where the population density is 1/4 of the population density of North Dakota. And while I am certain that the place is beautiful and full of Elfin magic, I really have a difficult time thinking this would be a good long-term move for him.
I spent a few minutes this morning to get some 411 on the area. Unfortunately, Fodor's doesn't have any information about Elfin Cove, neither does Zagat.com. So I am left with very little information beyond that the area is known for commercial and sport fishing. I went to Hot Jobs to see what kind of jobs were available for him, but they had nothing listed. According to the Insider pages, there are 3 grocery stores within 50 miles of the "city." McDonald's couldn't even recommend a location where he could grab one of his prized fillet of fish sandwiches.
So while this doesn't look like a match made in heaven on paper, I do think it has potential as a TV show. Sure, Northern Exposure had its moments, but I think we can do better than that.
